Simple and elegant baked pears with honey, butter, and warm spices - perfect served with yogurt, whipped cream, or ice cream.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon ground clove or nutmeg (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, or pistachios) – optional
- Vanilla yogurt, whipped cream, or ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Heat oven: Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare pears: Halve pears lengthwise and remove the cores.
- Arrange in dish: Place pears cut-side up in a baking dish.
- Add butter and honey: Brush each pear with melted butter and drizzle with honey.
- Season: Sprinkle lightly with clove or nutmeg if using, plus a pinch of salt.
- Add nuts (optional): Add nuts to the hollowed centers if desired.
- Bake: Bake 25–30 minutes, until pears are tender and lightly caramelized.
